A) intro. Nested in a xiii-century former convent, in a private and silent position and yet in the middle of a charming and lively neighborhood, right in front of an ancient Roman colonnade and the medieval basilic of San Lorenzo.

D) pros. While in a lively area (with bars, restaurants, banks, and supermarkets), the apartment is silent and safe. It is the only one located in the second courtyard of the former convent (now turned into a small condo), hence it is also very private. The ceiling of the main level is wooden-coffered, and that of the lower level is a charming red-brick barrel vault (which makes it a great bedroom, as it creates a “den” feeling, very silent and peaceful). Keeps naturally fresh in summer. Very low condo expenses (usually less than 1.000 eur / year, including water utility). The apartment is surrounded by a quiet office (which also provides a nice buffer with the rest of the condo).
E) let’s be clear. Three levels, not three floors: one bedroom is on the mezzanine (roof height: 185 cm), and the lower level is at half-basement level (this makes it a great bedroom, as it creates a “den” feeling, silent and peaceful). The lower level is, consequently, not very bright, and a/c runs automatically for a few hours every day to keep ideal conditions. On a side of the courtyard, although elegantly concealed by so-called “bio-boxes”, there is the condo temporary waste disposal area (which nonetheless makes your waste disposal very convenient).
F) ideal for. Whoever wants a space that is at the same time historical, original, and of design, most conveniently located and connected, with unbeatably low running costs. Possibly, a professional or couple coming often to Milan. Also, a university student wishing to have an extra bedroom (and a gym space, as I did) while living their lives in Milan. In any event, this is a great investment opportunity, as the apartment is very easy to rent out (at great prices).
